RADIOFREQUENCY NEUROTOMY OF THE LUMBAR FACETS

During this minimally-invasive procedure, the physician uses heat from radio waves to treat painful facet joints in your lower back. This procedure is also called radiofrequency rhizotomy. It can treat pain that doesn’t respond to medications or to physical therapy.

"Active Life is the most amazing group of professionals I have encountered in all my years dealing with pain. From Dr. Lundquist & Dr. Smith to the PA's, techs, receptionists, et al, these are people I highly recommend and have done so for years. I carry their cards in both my purse and saddlebag when horseback riding to give out when I meet people experiencing severe pain."

"The docs here are top-notch! Whenever I have any problems or concerns, they're just a phone call away. I've even been able to get in to see a doctor the same day I call! That's almost unheard of! The fact that Dr. Lunquist and Smith have a therapeutic masseuse on standby, as well as Dr. Smith's ability to perform needling and acupuncture, is of great benefit. The various amounts of modalities, as well as the quality of this pain management clinic, is something you would expect to see more in an inpatient hospital-type setting, not in a standard size doctor's office, and since they have just opened a Surprise office, it will allow them to serve a wider range of patients and most importantly help more people! I've been in chronic pain, due to a myriad of injuries and surgeries, for the past six years. Since coming to see the folks at Active Life Physical Medicine and Pain Center, I have hope. Hope that one day I won't have to take any medication for pain, hope that one day my pain levels will be so low I'll forget about hurting and start living, hope that one day I may have the ability to have mostly good days with just a few not-so-good days, hope that one day I'll be able to return to work and not worry about finances, hope that one day I will be me again. I've even started training for my first 5k in preparation! My goal is to be able to run in the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n Roll half-Marathon in 2018 and the full Marathon in 2019, and Active Life is helping me get there. If you're going through pain, pain from car accidents, work-related injuries, WHATEVER, come see Dr. Lunquist and Smith at Active Life,...

"They have a great team of doctors! They're very professional, they treat you really well, and you get a great bedside manner. Their programs are top-notch. I've had several procedures done, such as the pain stimulator. I'm almost completely pain-free! They are excellent in everything they do."

"I’ve been competing in strength athletics since the age of 15 and have been competing at a professional level for the last 5 years. It wasn’t until 2014 that I needed to seek treatment for a patella tendon tear that I received while competing at the Commerce World’s Strongest Man in China. I had only heard about PRP treatments and the great benefits that it could have on ones injuries, that’s when I found Dr. Lundquist at Active Life Physical Medicine & Pain Center in Avondale, Arizona. To this day I have received Orthovisc injections to both knees along with PRP. I have also received PRP treatments for muscle tears and other tendon tears that I’ve obtained while competing at World’s Strongest Man. I feel that without Dr. Lundquist knowledge in sports medicine and PRP that I would have had to have surgery. The PRP treatments have played a huge role in keeping me at an elite level. I have and will continue to refer other athletes for their injuries to Dr. Lundquist."
